Privacy Policy

UKPayTool is a trading name of Calaweb, a sole trader business registered in England and Wales.

This policy explains what data is collected when you use ukpaytool.co.uk, how it is used, and your rights in relation to it. We have kept this as straightforward as the site itself.

1. What we collect and why

Calculators and general use

The calculators on this site run entirely in your browser. The figures you enter are not transmitted to us, stored anywhere, or used for any purpose beyond producing your result on screen. We do not see them and do not keep them.

Cookies and analytics

Like most websites, this site uses cookies and collects anonymised usage data. This falls into two categories:

Google Analytics - We use Google Analytics to understand how the site is used in aggregate - which pages are visited, how long people spend on them, and roughly where visitors are coming from. This data is anonymised and does not identify you personally. Google processes this data on our behalf under a data processing agreement.

Google AdSense - This site displays advertisements served by Google AdSense. Google may set cookies on your device to serve advertisements that are relevant to you, based on your browsing activity across sites. This is handled entirely by Google. We do not have access to the data Google collects for this purpose.

You can opt out of personalised advertising at any time via Google's ad settings.

For more information on how Google uses data, see google.com/policies/privacy/partners.

Email contact

If you contact us by email, we will use your email address to reply to your message. Your email address will not be added to any mailing list, used for marketing, or shared with any third party. Once the matter is resolved, your email will be archived and retained only as a record of the correspondence.

2. Legal basis for processing

We process data on the following bases under UK GDPR:

  • Legitimate interests: Analytics data helps us understand whether the site is working and how to improve it, without identifying individual users
  • Legitimate interests: Responding to emails you have chosen to send us
  • Consent: Where Google AdSense sets cookies for personalised advertising, this is based on consent which you can withdraw at any time via Google's ad settings linked above

3. Third parties

We use the following third-party services:

We do not sell data to any third party. We do not use any other tracking, retargeting, or data broker services.

4. Your rights

Under UK GDPR you have the right to:

  • Ask what personal data we hold about you
  • Request correction or deletion of any personal data we hold
  • Object to processing or request that we restrict it
  • Withdraw consent where processing is based on consent

In practice, the only personal data we are likely to hold about you is your email address if you have contacted us. You can request its deletion at any time by emailing us.

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk if you believe your data has been handled unlawfully.

5. Data retention

Email correspondence is archived indefinitely as a business record but is not actively used after the original matter is resolved. We do not retain any other personal data.

6. Cookies

A brief notice about cookies appears when you first visit the site. The cookies set on this site are:

  • Google Analytics cookies: Used to measure site usage anonymously. These persist for up to 2 years.
  • Google AdSense cookies: Used to serve and measure advertisements. These are third-party cookies set by Google. Their duration and scope are governed by Google's own policies.
  • Cookie notice cookie: A single first-party cookie that records whether you have dismissed the cookie notice. This contains no personal data and expires after 12 months.

This site does not set any other cookies.
